My Biography
The road that led me to becoming a hairstylist is not the one that you usually hear. It began with my interest of art and drawing as a child; which led me to become a assistant painter for custom cars, motorcycles, and helmets as a teen. After graduating high school and few years of painting; I was looking for something more. So, I decided to turn in my coveralls for an opportunity to expand upon my artistic skills.
In the summer of 1999 I enrolled in Castro Valley Beauty School for classes beginning in the fall of that year; this is where I started my journey as a hairstylist! My main goal after graduating and passing the state boards was to work at one of the top salons in San Francisco.
In October of 2000 my dream came true; I began working at Joseph Cozza Salon on Maiden Lane, right in the heart of Union Square. I was only 20 years old and eager to learn. I began assisting different stylists in the 16 chair salon which opened my eyes to different techniques to accomplish signature styles. One of the highlights was when one of the top colorists took me under her wing. I shadowed her every move and eventually she taught me everything she knew. After an intense assistant program and rigorous testing I was set free to build my own clientele.
In October of 2001 Joseph Cozza Salon opened at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco; in February of 2002 I started working at the exclusive location. This is where I was able to advance my skills in event styling and updo's (not just weddings but for the Opera , Symphony, and Galas). After working in San Francisco for seven years it was then time to look for a new home to share my talents.
In August 2007 after much research and thought I found myself beginning a business at the award winning Tribez, (awarded Best Salon in the East Bay the last two years).
Now that I have found a home at Tribez. I am looking forward to growing my business in Danville and starting long lasting relationships with my clients.
